 Inertia Dance company will be an adult company comprised of  both men and women ages 21-40. The company will consist of approximately 7-10 full time members.  Our goal is to perform pieces in lyrical, contemporary, and theatre style in the Charleston and greater Kanawha Valley area, at events such as Festivall, Multifest and other local, free-to-the- public opportunities.  It is our intent to take our performance pieces to other areas of the state as well as educational institutions.

There is no fee to join. It is my hope that I will be able to eventually pay dancers, but currently, it will be volunteer basis only as this is brand new start up.  Please spread the word to other people in the arts community and help us grow and build.

Our bodies are designed to absorb information, process it, and in this case, produce a movement which is energizing, thought-provoking, and moving to the soul. Inertia is a dance company designed to challenge dancers to see beyond the choreography. The “dance” is more than the steps. It is movement and a movement. It is a statement. It is a protest. Inertia, and its consistent power is the building block of each piece we create. This company will possess a strong respect for the natural order of motion. Our bodies are brilliant instruments capable of pushing limits, and challenging the way our audience sees and experiences visual art.
